TrentU Durham Students Wanted for Extramural Hockey Team

Written by: Tony Ruber

The Trent University Men’s Extramural Hockey has
been a growing sports club throughout the past few years. The team’s
spectacular 2014-15 season was a strong one in Trent’s hockey history and did
not go unnoticed.

Last year, the Trent men’s hockey team won 4 out of
the 6 tournaments they contended in, winning 29 games and losing 4. The success
of the team is due to the whole effort of Trent’s players, coaching staff,
administration, students and fans. With returning head coach, Gavin McKnight,
and a coaching crew of ex-Trent hockey players, the team’s objective for the
2015-16 season is to exceed last year’s accomplishments.

This year, the Trent Hockey Club is hosting a
Men’s Extramural Hockey tournament in Peterborough in early March
of 2016, which added with Trent’s Kawartha Cup, will bring more of
Trent University hockey to Trent students and fans.

Through these objectives, the Trent Hockey team
will produce an atmosphere for young men to grow as individuals, gain or
improve lifelong characteristics (such as respect, commitment and teamwork) and
to help make their Trent University experience more memorable.

Tryouts for the team this year are going to be held
at Kinsmen Arena in Peterborough, on the days of September 22, 23, 24 and 25
from 12pm-1pm
. It is $15 per skate or $50 for all 4.

Last year, the Trent Men’s Hockey Team acquired
their first Trent University Durham player and would like other TrentU Durham
players to join him and the Trent Hockey Team in fulfilling this season’s
