Activities to do in Oshawa During the Summer

Written by: Jasmine Robichaud

Oshawa has been my home for 21 years. As an Oshawa born student, I have seen this city vastly change into the busy booming place it is today! Have you recently moved to Oshawa to go to school at Trent? Or, are you perhaps just having a hard time finding activities to do in the summer? Today I’d like to tell you about some fun summer activities that I like to do in the summer in Oshawa.

  1. Take a trip to the Oshawa lake! Sometimes you can watch the boats leave the harbour, or perhaps you can visit one of the Oshawa historical houses located at the lake! Bring a bathing suit and a frisbee just in case as well, because sometimes it’s nice to just take a dip and play a game with some friends!
  2. Try one of our local “Paint Nights” in Oshawa by searching this up on Groupon. Groupon is an app that you can download onto your phone and it’ll locate all local paint night events! This event is particularly fun if you like to try new and crafty activities with friends and family.
  3. Check out the Karaoke nights at St. Louis’s pub on King & Stevenson near the Oshawa Centre! Fun times for friends and family alike.
  4. On Tuesday nights, Landmark cinemas (in Whitby) which is located 10 minutes from TrentU Durham, has cheap movie Tuesdays! I have always enjoyed these nights when going for dinner and a movie with friends! Definitely check it out sometime.

I hope you enjoyed this little list of things to do in Oshawa during the summer. If perhaps maybe you guys have any ideas, leave your thoughts in the comments below!
