Hey everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas break and first week of second semester! This is a PSA to all TrentU Durham students reminding you that the Winter-term course add deadline is Monday January 23rd 2017. It is fast approaching so I suggest that you take the time to think over your course selection. Here is the link to the Academic Calendar to see other important dates (page 8).
If you are a student who is debating on taking a course, switching a course or adding another, here are a few tips! Coming from the most indecisive person in the universe (me) I know that those decisions can be tough and may require a couple of steps…
- Talk with an Academic Advisor
If you are in any way unsure about the current courses you’re enrolled in, do not be hesitant to ask for help! Book an appointment with our Academic Advisor, Craig Cameron, a great person to ask questions to regarding course add/drop options. I do highly suggest that you book an appointment ASAP because they tend to fill up very quickly! From more information visit, the Academic Advising page!
- Talk with a Professor
If you have any concerns with a course’s requirements or expectations, I suggest that you take the time to talk with the Professor. They may help to ease your worries and answer any of your concerns.
- Choose what is best for you!
If you’re having second thoughts about one of your course options or are debating to add another, I highly recommend that you think it through. Spending the next 4 months in a course that you are unhappy or uninterested in is a long time! Take the next week to go over your options, seek help and ultimately chose a decision that is right for you.
Always check in the Academic Calendar or with an Academic Advisor about your degree and program requirements before changing courses!
Until next time….
